WEEKEND WITH LOU & GREY

Style + Comfort. If you ask any woman what she's looking for in her clothes, you will often hear these two words. I will admit that I always tended to lean more towards style and thew comfort out the window. Now that I am in a demanding career and have a lot more commitments (aka errands all day, everyday), I know how important comfort is. Recently, I was invited to visit the new Lou & Grey store in North Hills Raleigh. I was introduced to Lou & Grey through the Loft. I am a huge Ann Taylor and Loft fan. I was immediately intrigued by the select pieces Loft began to carry in their stores last year. When I was told they had a new store in my neighborhood, I jumped at the chance to visit.

I immediately fell in love with the store. I already follow Lou & Grey on instagram (@louandgrey) so I was able to see their aesthetic before visiting. The store was even more gorgeous in person (can I live here?). Light, airy and organic is how I would describe it. It felt so warm when I entered the store and all the girls were so nice and helpful. I could stay in that store for hours (and I did!) I wouldn't have expected less from a line that embraces comfort. Being the type-a lawyer that I am, I already picked out some pieces I wanted to try on before I came to the store (the evergreen coated jeans, for example). One in particular, the plaid coat, was at the top of my list. I spotted the coat as soon as I walked in the store and couldn't wait to try it on. I snatched it up along with some other pieces that I can't wait to share with you next Monday (along with more pictures from my visit).

What I love most about Lou & Grey is their message. They really are a company focused on women. They don't just sell clothing either. After my visit and reading their blog, The Ampersand, I was impressed to learn that they feature local female artisans from around the country. If you have a second you should really read about the independent artists and makers they've featured. They even sell jewelry, candles, and a few other goods from some of these creatives.

My Outfit // ℅ Lou & Grey plaid coat (limited sizes. Loving these new Lou & Grey coats: here and here), Gap merino sweater turtleneck (sold out online, available in stores. Love these Lou & Grey sweaters: here, here, here and here), Madewell coated leggings (love this pair and this emerald pair from Lou & Grey) + cambridge satchel, Zara heels (similar), Asos felt cap
